Countryside Marketing is a marketing communications company.

While small, Countryside offers the same types of services available through larger, and usually more expensive, agencies. We're here to help our clients be more productive. Often times that means helping them get through special projects or events that internal staff does not have the time to do. We can also provide a fresh perspective, help you meet tough deadlines, expand programs that need to grow -- in short, we can become an extension of your marketing team.

Founded in April 1994, the company's role and function is to serve the needs of its clients in terms of publishing, general marketing communications, public relations, collateral materials and association and trade show management.

Its principal/president - Carroll Merry - serves as primary contact, which means clients don't get lost in the shuffle. In order to meet the needs of its clients, Countryside regularly contracts with outside resources for additional support. This "standby" staff is well prepared to handle projects varying from writing, editing and subscription list management to computer programming and technical support, logo design, photography and much, much more.


Our Principal


Carroll Merry is a true marketing communications professional with over 30 years of experience in public relations, publishing, writing, event planning and management, advertising and general marketing communications.

His “start,” so to speak, came as a weekly newspaper editor with the U.S. Air Force. Then came duty as a bureau chief for a civilian daily paper. Then into advertising and sales promotion in the outdoor power equipment industry. Advertising and marketing communications manager positions with two major U.S. agricultural equipment companies. Space advertising with two leading trade publications. He has also served as a publisher of trade publications.

During that time he also received a bachelors degree in journalism and a masters degree in business management.

He is actively involved with his industry, whether through the local chamber of commerce, the Chicago and Badger Chapters of the National Agri-Marketing Association, the Business Alliance Council of the National Association of Conservation Districts, the American Society of Association Executives, the Agricultural Relations Council, and more!

In 2002 he was given a prestigious National Leadership Award from the National Agri-Marketing Association, the latest of many industry citations he has received for his work during his career.

Today he brings all that experience to focus on the needs of his clients. A hands-on manager, he boasts that he’s never asked his staff, at any of the companies he has worked for, to do something he hasn’t done himself!
